You may want dental implants but are worried about how to pay for them. It’s a very common concern – and unfortunately it often causes patients to wait too long to get the dental implants they need!

Every day patients tell me how life-changing their dental implants are, and how their only regret is that they wish they did it much sooner! Don’t let the fear of finances get in the way of getting the treatment you want – dental implants are more affordable than you may think.

There are a variety of ways to pay for your dental implants. In our office we have outstanding financial experts who give you comfortable options for your lifestyle when paying for your dental implants. We never want finances to interfere with the treatment you need, and we’re here to help!

Does Insurance Cover Dental Implants?

With all dental insurance, unlike many medical insurances, it typically only pays for a portion of the procedure. Most often, patients have some out-of-pocket responsibility.

Dental insurance does not often cover your entire dental implant procedure – however, it can cover certain aspects of the process. Some of the things that may be covered by insurance are extractions and the final crown.

Even though dental insurance doesn’t cover the entire procedure, there are still ways to make dental implants affordable for you.

Flexible Spending Accounts for Dental Implants

A great way to pay for the dental implants you need is using a Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Many employers offer FSA’s as a benefit to employees.

With an FSA, you can contribute pre-tax dollars to a medical savings account that you can use for medical and dental expenses that are not covered by insurance. You elect to contribute a total amount for the year, and then a small amount is taken out of each paycheck.

The maximum contribution amount for 2017 is $2600. It’s also important to note that with most FSA’s you need to use the entire amount you elected to set aside within the calendar year or you’ll use it.

Now is perfect time to plan for your FSA benefits for 2018 and set aside money for your dental implant treatment.

Also, give our office a call if you have money in your 2017 FSA account that you’d like to use towards dental treatment this year – our office gets busier toward the end of the year so it’s a good idea to schedule now!

Financing for Dental Implants

Whether or not you have access to dental insurance benefits or an FSA account, there are other options to finance your dental implant treatment. Every patient has different needs, and our office will work with you to find a solution that’s comfortable for you.

Some patients require more extensive treatment such a full mouth reconstruction. Other patients need supplemental procedures like bone grafting with their dental implants. Often patients want to take advantage of some of our other technology such as platelet rich fibrin therapy to speed up their healing, or IV sedation to make the procedure more comfortable. Patients also opt to bundle other dental procedures with their dental implants such as Invisalign therapy or same-day crowns.

Depending on what you need, we can work with you on different down-payment and monthly payment options. Sometimes patients opt for 3rd party financing at 0% interest. The best thing to do is schedule a complimentary consultation to find out more about what you need and the various options to finance your dental implants.

Getting the Dental Implants You Need

Dental implants are meant to last for a lifetime. In a very small percentage of cases, dental implants can fail and need to be replaced – however, for the large majority of patients they are stable and functional for life. When considering the cost of dental implants, remember that they are a lifetime investment in your dental health.

Patients are overwhelmingly thrilled when they get the dental implants they need. They can eat all of their favorite foods again, and feel confident in social situations. Also, their overall dental health is better – it’s healthier for your bone to have solid tooth root in place, and it’s also better for the adjacent teeth.

I love being able to work with dental implant technology and change patients’ lives every day! Don’t let finances prevent you from getting the dental implants you need – we’re always able to find workable solutions for our patients’ lifestyles.
